~ A PRINCESS & HER JEWELS ~

I'm often asked "isn't it fun dressing a girl?" , hmmm let me think for a millisecond:
YES!
What makes it tons of fun, is that Mia is a girly girl through and through! As you know she loves shoes and pocketbooks; and she also loves putting on braclets and now necklaces :) She will pat her wrist or neck, which means " where's the bling, mama?!"

"E" and I took out some dress up jewels for Mia and we were cracking up at her. I still cannot believe she wore the clip-on earrings!

Not a great photo, but "E" has his arm around his sis!

~ Deep concentration ~

~ The earrings kill me! ~

~ Even a princess can tire of her jewels, especially
when it's bed time ~

Come on, give me some credit here ~ this wasn't easy, considering what I have to work with!!

~ ONLY SOCKS ~

This is mommy & Mia's first mother/daughter, matching piece of apparel! Aren't they cute??? They are incredibly soft ~ Mia just loves soft fabrics, so these are a big hit with her.

I know, they're only socks, but they make me.... I mean US so happy !

~ KICKIN' OFF THE HOLIDAY SEASON ~

*Warning: no pictures of children in this post !

Saturday night was our annual neighborhood holiday party. My dh and I have missed the last 2 due to kids, lack of babysitter, etc. What were we nuts?! It was one of the best times we've had!! We are blessed with some truly great neighbors and friends and having us all together in one room was a total blast :)

To see more pic's you can go to "Paige" on my sidebar (http://www.redthreadtomydaughter.com/)

A LITTLE BIT OF SNOW = A LOT OF FUN

We had our first snow of the season! It was so nice walking down the stairs and seeing the snow fall outside the windows ~ especially nice since this is Mia's first snow (I doubt she's seen any being from southern China!). She touched the window and stared outside ~ yet another new experience on her growing list since coming home!

When "E" woke up and saw the snow he said, "I didn't know it was Christmas!".

Of course, I couldn't control myself and took many pictures!

Think she'd like to go try out the snow?

The boys were thrilled (please don't laugh, I know there isn't
even an inch out there yet!!)!

Yummmmmmmmmmmmy!

Daddy and his little eskimo girl!

Mia was just about stunned at first ~ then came her famous smile!

A buddy and "A" rolling up snowballs

If you're able to ride a bike like "E", then it's classified as
a coating of snow (if that!)

"A" and his buddies made Mia her 1st snowman ~ aren't they sweet?!
And, yes we did have hot cocoa with marshmellows when we came inside :) Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

~ A VISIT WITH SANTA & COOKIES GALORE ~

Daddy & Mia admire the decorations

Santa talks to "A" while "E" thinks :)
No one cried, but Mia seemed perplexed while sitting on
Santa's lap. She kept turning around to look at him, as I
jumped and waved behind the camera man!

Wow, all my children on Santa's lap! It still amazes me that
she is here!

We had our annual cookie exchange party ~ where we sampled about 15 cookies! Then, we had to vote on the best tasting cookie and also the best displayed cookie plate. It was such a fun and delicious night. Afterwards, we each took home a HUGE bag with about 6-8 samples of each person's cookie along with their recipe:

Display of cookies!
Best Display: Congrat's Kim!
Best Tasting Cookie: Hooray Barb!

~ DECORATING TIME ~

We spent the rest of the weekend decorating for Christmas! Ahhhh, the Christmas music was on, the icicle lights were strung up on the roof and we were all in the spirit to decorate the tree.

I was a bit worried about our Christmas tree with Miss Mia around, but she seems to think it's part of the furniture; after a few 100 "no, Mia's" she has just about left it alone.

As always, a few pictures of our fun, yet nutty decorating:

Eddie came to sit with Mia - things are looking up!

E with his "xmas lights" or beads as we call them!

Mia's 1st attempt to destroy the tree...

"Wow...."

"I love this ornament, so soft and fuzzy...."

E has the honor of putting the angel up!

Mia "fixing" the skirt - One angel to another :)

A fixing our angel !

"Anyone in there?"

~ THANKFUL ~

Hope everyone had a delicious and memorable Thanksgiving day ~ ours was quiet and very yummy, if I don't say so myself! It was the first Thanksgiving dinner I prepared solo (my mom was working and usually helps, supervises and guides me along) and I am proud of the outcome!

Mia dined on cheerios (of course) and some of her oatmeal banana cereal, but especially liked... my cranberry sauce (?) and apple pie! I am so thankful to have Mia home and healthy ~ we have so much to be thankful for ~ next stop....

Christmas!! My VERY favorite time of the year!!
