~ SHE WAITED. . . . ~

On September 2, 2007, we boarded a plane in Beijing, with our travel mates for a flight to Nanning, Guangxi ~ our daughters province. During our 3 hour flight we sat with David & Michelle and got to know each other even better. We all got along famously and loved to laugh and have a good time - part of it must have been nerves! When we landed and pulled our suitcases outside, we were struck with intense heat, palm trees and a thick haze filled the air - we were in southern China alright!

My most vivid memory is all four of us seated in a taxi-bus on the way to our hotel. We were amazed at the traffic; cars, buses, bikes, motor bikes and pedestrians all "sharing" the road - it was madness! People and cars where zig zagging and coming within inches of each other! We could not contain our laughter :) What fun and how exciting it was to be even closer to our daughters - we looked forward to meeting our other travel mates; Tim and Nicole who visited Hong Kong instead of Beijing ~ we would meet them that evening at dinner...

In the meantime, our daughter waited in her SWI - we had no idea if she knew we were coming. She was "with us" and we felt so very close to her. We are coming honey!

Ohhhhh, I know these photos of her from the orphanage are emotional to look back on, yet they are such a gift to have. I am amazed at how freely dressed they are being sleeveless and barefoot. Faith's photos have her layered in tons of clothing where she could hardly even move. I don't think her SWI even had heat.
Enjoying your journey!!
