~ THE MANY FACES OF THE PRINCESS ~

I really was right on target when I named my blog "China Princess" back in June of 2006; little did I know what a princess we were to have :)

Mia continues to thrive and show more and more of her personality and just how smart she is (spoken like a true mommy in love, I know!). She seems to understand more each day; waves hello and good-bye, shakes her head "yes" and "no" and we taught her to blow kisses last night ~precious!

Oh, I just remembered I didn't post about our first outing; which was last Monday (before Anthony broke his arm). I was at the store with my parents and Mia was in the stroller. I was waiting on line and a "cute" little old man comes up to me and says, "Oh, I've always wanted to get myself one of those, how much did she cost?". Keep in mind, this is the FIRST time I've been out in public with my girl and this is what I encounter!!!!!??? I took a deep breath and said, "oh, you mean the stroller?" (I tried to get him out of it...). "No", he shakes his head and points to my daughter, "no, how much was she? And where do I get one?". Thank goodness I've read a lot on this subject and I just told him, "she is priceless" ~ plain and simple...

The nerve!!!!!!!!!!! I was fuming, but my parents thought he was just and old (senial) man and didn't mean any harm ~ still, It pissed me off. I"m sure its not the first time, but; come on - this was our very first outing!!

"I love to smile!"

Curious...

Angelic...

Cutie pie...

Hysterical...

Couldn't a princess find a better place for a nap??? (I often find Mia curled up on the floor like this. I'm sure this is how she napped in the orphanage: find a cool place on the floor and just rest). Couldn't you just eat her up!!!

What a precious, precious Princess. Sorry about the comment. I'm getting strange comments already and I don't even have our girl - It's amazing what people will say. Forget that, she is just too cute and I'm so glad that everything is going well.
hugs :)

Don't even pay attention to the old senile man! How rude of a person is he and THANK GOD he didn't adopt from China or anywhere else for that matter!
Mia is the luckiest little girl in the world and we are so happy that she finally HOME!
Can't get enough of that cutie girl! :)
Just love her... sooo much!!

The pictures are priceless. I must say one is cuter then the next!!! You sure did pick the right title for your blog. There is only one thing to say about the old man's comment...stupidity is awful! Love your response though :) Lots of Love, Barb

Mia looks like she is adjusting so well. She is so adorable. I will have to remember your comment to the "old man" for futere use.

I'm so glad you are posting these pictures so I can see all these faces of Mia from afar. Taking a nap on the floor takes the cake, though - you've gotta love it!
(I'll take sleeping on the floor over "no nap today" anytime!)
Must be so amazing to watch her learn to communicate and do things. What a joy!
Sorry about the ignorant man's comments on your first outing, although your response was great - good for you. Now you know you are prepared, and can take on the rest of 'em with a smile. There probably won't be any more like him, though, now that you are ready and armed! Let's hope so, anyway.
Love, Miriam

Mia is such a girly girl! Love the many faces of her happiness...and her wardrobe! I remember when our daughter was a few months old and I was on line at the store. This harmless looking woman smiled at our daughter, then said to me, "What is her name?". I answered,"Kali". She abruptly turned to the cashier and said,"They pick the most unusual names these days". I was stunned, but quickly stated, "She is named after her great grandmother, Kaliope...Kali for short". Amen to "the nerve"!!!!
